Claude Bosi’s joint, very well located in Mayfair, is definitely one of the most exciting restaurant in London. It was one of my first “fancy” dinner in town - I know the Paris scene better. Mr Bosi, who used to work at L’Arpege, is very confident with his cooking. There was a couple misses, but the hits were absolutely amazing. Good wine list too, and well priced for a restaurant of that calibre. Definitely a must go! The chef is totally aiming for a third star, which he could get within a few years if he stays on the same track.

Gougeres (a classic French way to start a great meal, like at Taillevent for example)

Hibiscus & pineapple soda (served in an egg, L’Arpege style)

Carpaccio of Cornish pollock & radish, almond and truffle vinaigrette (quite meh)

Roast hand-dived scallops, pork pie sauce, pink grapefruit, wood sorrel

Ravioli of hen’s egg yolk & smoked potato, chopped white truffle (BOOM)

Cornish skate wing roasted in brown butter, Jerusalem artichoke & vanilla puree, burnt sweetcorn buttermilk (a real 3 star dish, absolutely amazing)

Roast “Adour” foie gras, sea buckthorn gel, quince & Szechuan pepper compote

Shropshire Mallard duck cooked in grape juice, sweet potato, saffron, roasted parsley roots

Parmentier made with the off-cuts of the duck (phenomenal)

Apple puree, sweet celeriac, chestnut cream

Cep tart, macadamia nut ice cream (maybe the best dessert I had for the whole trip)
