This is the biggest fish market in the world. If you love Japanese food, and especially sashimi and sushi, it’s the closest you’ll get to heaven. Every different kind of fish and seafood, live, a buzzing atmosphere and the true impression that you’re at the place where you will find the best fish in the world. It probably is. I went at 4.30am (Tokyo might be the only city where you can embrace jet lag and make something out of it, from hanging out with Scarlett Johansson to going to the fish market). I spent nearly 3 hours there, walking around in the alleys and being like a little kid in a toy store. This market is bound to move from its great location, a few minutes from Ginza, so I encourage you to go - and go EARLY - as soon as possible, it is the best experience ever.
